This cheeky magpie has stolen something shiny, a bicycle key. A small but very important treasure for anyone trying to get home 😄
This cheeky magpie is available in three different versions, each reveiling a different stage of the “crime” and giving you a glimpse into the lino printing process itself.
By playing with the blue ink layer, masking parts of the plate and showing traces of the roller, these variations reveal how small choices during printing can completely change the final artwork.
QUIET THEFT
The theft almost goes unnoticed.
Parts of the blue ink layer were covered with a mask before printing. This leaves the blue visible only on the feathers and the stolen key.
TRACES
The thief left some evidence behind.
The width of the roller remains visible in the blue layer, revealing a trace of the handmade printing process.
FULL CONFESSION
The evidence is undeniable.
The complete blue lino plate has been printed. Nothing is hidden anymore: everything from both lino plates is visible. 😄
