This linoprint shows the labyrinth on the Waalkade, with the Bridge and the river in the background. The sky features a subtle beige gradient.
The labyrinth is set into the pavement. It is not a maze, but a single winding path leading to the center and back, inviting visitors to slow down and take a mindful walk. At the same time, it is full of life: during the day, you can hear children’s voices as they play along the water or race to see who reaches the heart of the labyrinth first. I have warm memories of this place myself, jumping over the water as a kid and bringing my own children here when they were little. Stand in the center and call out, and the echo bounces off the quay walls. A magical place for young and old.
This print is also available with a blue gradient.

Printing Method
Printed using the Jigsaw printing method. The jigsaw method is a technique where separate pieces of linoleum are carved for each color. These pieces are carefully assembled like a puzzle during printing, allowing precise alignment and layered color effects.
Each design is transferred by hand onto the linoleum block and carved using Pfeil gouges. Every print is hand-printed using a glass baren and sometimes a press. Due to the handmade process, colors and details may vary slightly, and the print and the paper may have imperfections, including slight color misalignment in multicolor prints. They are part of the character of the work.
Each print is signed and numbered on the front.
The image shown is for reference. Colors may be different as on screen. As prints are individually numbered, it is not possible to select a specific number in advance.
