May I present to you: Ray, the Galloway. I believe these Galloways don’t have names, but this name popped into my head. This is one of the Galloway’s that you can encounter while walking in the floodplains of Nijmegen. They roam freely among the grass, puddles, and river, with the Waal Bridge as a recognizable backdrop.
I love walking here and don’t mind taking a small detour if one of them is blocking the path. These are calm animals, as long as you leave them undisturbed and keep your distance from the calves. I wanted to capture their peaceful presence while also highlighting the landscape Nijmegen is known for: the Waal, the bridge, and the open space.

Printing Method
Printed using the reduction printing method, each color layer is hand-printed and the linoleum block is carved further after every stage. As the image comes to life, the block gradually disappears, making each print unique and ensuring that no additional prints can ever be made.
Each design is transferred by hand onto the linoleum block and carved using Pfeil gouges. Every print is hand-printed using a glass baren and sometimes a press. Due to the handmade process, colors and details may vary slightly, and the print and the paper may have imperfections, including slight color misalignment in multicolor prints. They are part of the character of the work.
Each print is signed and numbered on the front.
The image shown is for reference. Colors may be different as on screen. As prints are individually numbered, it is not possible to select a specific number in advance.
All rights remain with the artist, also after purchase. This artwork may not be copied, reproduced, or used in any form without the artist’s written permission.
