This mini-print features De Bloedkuul, the nickname of Nijmegen’s Goffertstadion. The name, meaning “the blood pit”, dates back to the crisis years of the 1930s, when thousands of unemployed people from Nijmegen dug out the pit for the stadium entirely by hand. Surrounded by the green Goffertpark, the stadium is now home to N.E.C. Nijmegen and holds a special place in the hearts of many locals.
Most of these prints are created using leftover ink from a larger print and leftover paper, as part of my effort to work as sustainably as possible and reduce waste, contributing to a more sustainable world. It makes a beautiful gift for yourself or someone special.
