Meet the uilskuiken, a baby owl with a big personality! 🦉
Inspired by the cover of my children’s biology book. These baby owls made me smile and the Dutch word uilskuiken is just as playful: a gentle, teasing way to call someone a little clumsy… but in the sweetest way.
I made eight versions: some with uilskuiken boldly underneath (guaranteed to spark a conversation!), others text-free. There are 3 different background colors plus two without a background.

Printing Method
Printed using the reduction technique. Each layer of color is carved and printed sequentially on the same block, reducing the block after each color. Every print is hand-printed using a Woodzilla handpress. It’s a process that requires careful planning, as each step permanently changes the block.
Because of the handmade process, colors and details may vary slightly, and the print and paper may have imperfections, which are part of the charm of the work.
Each print is signed and numbered on the front.
